NO FEE APARTMENT RENTAL PRICES
What exactly is the current state of the New York City rental market? Are prices still holding steady, or given the
current state of affairs, are there bargains to be found? According to the Manhattan Rental Market Report, since
October 2007, the majority of NYC apartment rentals have decreased in price with the exception of Doorman 2-
Bedrooms. The most significant price decreases this month have been for Non-Doorman studio apartments in
Gramercy Park and Doorman One-Bedrooms in the Lower East Side. TriBeCa holds the crown for having the
priciest Non-Doorman rentals in Manhattan. The most expensive Doorman One and Two-Bedroom apartments
are in SoHo, while the least expensive Manhattan apartments are in Harlem, where rental prices are over 50%
less than the rest of Manhattan.
If you’re looking to rent a studio, Gramercy Park Doorman Studios are at prices not seen since the Springtime of
2007. However, if you need a little more space, Doorman One-Bedroom apartments in the Lower East Side &
East Village have reached their lowest prices of the year. Families and renters who need multiple bedrooms
should consider heading north as Harlem’s 2-Bedroom rentals continue to drop in price. In fact, they’re usually
more affordable than One-Bedroom apartments in the rest of the city!
